A Trusted Representative
Many residents remark that the reason they have and will continue to support me is that
they trust and respect my decisions.
While they might not always agree with them, they know my record is consistent and shows
the hard work and preparation that defines my decision making process. Residents know I
am prepared at meetings and listen to their point of view. I have an open mind, and take
into consideration comments on all sides of an issue. I do “field work” to better
understand neighborhood concerns, looking at proposed projects from many different
perspectives. This helps me to better formulate and define the issues, helping me
make a better decision for the community.
To be an effective leader, one must be open to new opinions and ideas. Many of my most
difficult decisions on council have been shaped not only by written reports, but also
by the comments and concerns of you the resident. You can and do make a difference.
Together we have made Downers Grove a better place to live. Together we can help shape
